Some
of the folk stories are humorous in nature.
Once, a vulture like bird, flying very high in the sky, was brought down
by him by just whispering a ‘manthram’ and then breaking a stick.
One day he noted that a mouse tore his ‘konakam’ (under wear). He had
decided to punish this mouse. He whispered a ‘manthram’ and there appeared
an army of mice in front of him. He immediately found the culprit from
among the mice and punished him with a small beating with a thin stick
in front of the other mice so that it would be a warning for the others.
He had to repeat this again to punish the mouse that had stolen the false
hair of his wife. After these incidents, there was no menace from mice
in that house.
