Once upon a time around 1721, near the then state of Kayamkulam, towards the north west of Puthiyakavu in Karunagapally, the Alummootil family thrived in the peaceful countryside. The family was known for its martial skills and valor, with two young brothers, standing out as skilled soldiers in the army of the King of Kayamkulam.

It was a very rainy night. The two young brothers were sitting in the floor and having "Kanji" for their dinner. Their mother was serving "Chakka Puzhukku" to them. Their younger sister was cleaning the clay utensils in the kitchen. One of the them told their mother "This green chilly is very spicy… I want some more water…"and their younger sister came with a small clay pot with water. That brother dipped the "Kumbil" made with Jackfruit tree leaf in the pot and drank some.

Then both washed hands sitting there and said to their mother and sister: "Our Kayamkulam King told we some members of army to come back only after some days for training since some construction is going there. So, we are not going to waste this time and me and my brother already planned to go to Mavelikkara Lekshana family to get ourselves trained in Yoga. We already packed for our journey". Mother asked them "What Mavelikkara Lekshana family?"… Young brothers said in same voice: "Yes, Mother…". Mother closed the windows of the room and made a deep breath and asked them "Are you mad? You both are members of the army of the king of Kayamkulam, did you tell him that you are going to Mavelikkara Lekshana family?". They said "No, we know in Lekshana family there are members were the soldiers in the army of the ruler of Madathinkur at Mavelikkara".

Mother asked them in anger: "If you tell that you are going to learn from the courtiers of ruler of Madathinkur, the King will take your heads! Don't you know the Raja of Kayamkulam and the ruler of Madathinkur were fierce rivals? … " She then pleaded them with heart of mother: "I want you both. Please don't go…". One of her sons told: " We are not going to learn anything to do against Raja of Kayamkulam, we just go there and will get trained in Yoga and will come back then. Until then you should not tell this to anyone". Then other brother told "We know that they know the tactics for a very good army, if we learn them, it will become good for our Kayamkulam army too…". Then their younger sister tried to block them. Then one brother told her smiling:" I also prefer to unite with Lekshana family, if we get a good alliance for our young sister… So, you also don't worry… ". Two young brothers said goodbye to their mother and sister, they travelled to Mavelikkara.

But the walls of that room had ears! Someone in the darkness was overhearing these conversations stealthily...! The unknown eavesdropper felt a sense of intrigue and curiosity.
