The Promise vs. The Padlock
What was promised
- 23 Dec 2023 — Inauguration of Alummoottil Meda after renovation (2020–2023).
- 06 Jan 2024 — Newspaper coverage in Mathrubhumi saying the public reopening was imminent (see below).
- 26 Jun 2024 — More coverage in Malayala Manorama pointing to a reopening around 7 Jul 2024 (see below).
What actually happened
- As of 01 Oct 2025 — Gate still locked. Family members (including me) report being turned away.
- Net effect — A grand inauguration followed by a long silence. To the public, that’s a promise made and not kept.
Plain speak: If you inaugurate, announce a public reopening, and then keep the locks on for over a year, ordinary people call that cheating the public.
The Thief, the Goonda, the Emperor & the Wife
This is the current administration of the Alummoottil Meda.
- The Thief – Expert in vanishing acts. Paper trails disappear, valuables go missing.
- The Goonda – Hyenas who lick the feet of the emperor, and make a meal out of his scraps. Performs common dog tricks.
- The Nude Emperor – Sits on the throne nude, admiring himself in the mirror. Need a pint? Write a poem of praises, and you get a full bottle of scotch.
- The Wife – Cheers the emperor on, while the thief and the goonda loot.
Ask for accountability - this team will perform a “group vanish”.
The management principle: Keep family out. Loot as much as possible. Entertain goondas in possible ways.

Aug 9, 2024 – Meda Locked Up
When Anoop visited the Meda, the gates were locked, visitors banned, and a “Beware of Dogs” sign was prominently displayed—though neither Ramesh Chandran nor Sivadasan were on the premises at the time. അനൂപ് മേടയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ, കവാടങ്ങൾ പൂട്ടിയിരുന്നു, സന്ദർശകർക്ക് പ്രവേശനം നിഷേധിച്ചിരുന്നു, "നായ്ക്കളെ സൂക്ഷിക്കുക" എന്ന ഒരു ബോർഡ് പ്രകടമായി പ്രദർശിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു—എങ്കിലും രമേശ് ചന്ദ്രനോ ശിവദാസനോ അപ്പോൾ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.

On June 26, 2024, a Malayala Manorama article reported that Alummoottil Meda would reopen to the public on July 4, 2024, misleading the noble Alummoottil kin and Muttom’s residents. Months later, with the Meda still sealed, it is evident that Ramesh Chandran and Sivadasan never intented for the Meda to be open to the public. Destroyed 120-year-old arch of Meda
When the Meda’s arch fell to earth, it was not timber and stone alone that perished; the very emblem of the house was struck down. Yet certain trustees would now convert ground sanctified by the Guru’s footsteps into a star hotel and wedding hall—bartering heritage for cash. They style the Tharavad a “multi-crore investment,” as though ledgers could eclipse the blood once shed to preserve it. This soil holds our family shrines and the memory of Sridharan, who mounted the British gallows rather than betray that inheritance; such a legacy is not for sale. Listen closely at Alummoottil and one can almost hear the ancestors’ lament borne on the wind. The younger generation’s resolve to resist this desecration is a rightful act of reparation to Sridharan-appooppan, undertaken despite those who would marshal muscle, influence, and even the machinery of the state to advance a private venture. If duty has a name, it is their niyogam—to cleanse the family of the malevolence at its gates. May Thekkedathappan be their guide and guardian.
കൊച്ചു കുഞ്ഞു ചാന്നാർ പണിത കമാനം നിലത്ത് പതിച്ച ദിനം തകർന്നത് ഒരു പിടി കുമ്മായക്കൂടോ തടിയിലെ ഒരു നിർമ്മാണകലയോ മാത്രമല്ല; തറവാടിന്റെ മുഖച്ഛായ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു. ഗുരുദേവന്റെ പാദസ്പർശമേറ്റ ഈ പുണ്യഭൂമിയെ സ്റ്റാർ ഹോട്ടലും കല്യാണമണ്ഡപവും ആക്കി, പാരമ്പര്യം കച്ചവടസമ്പത്തായി മാറ്റാൻ ചില ട്രസ്റ്റികൾ തുനിയുമ്പോൾ, അവർ തറവാടിനെ “മൾട്ടി-കോടി ഇൻവെസ്റ്റ്മെന്റ്” എന്നാണ് വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. ഒരു കാലത്ത് ഈ പൈതൃകം കാക്കാൻ ചൊരിഞ്ഞ രക്തത്തെ അക്കൗണ്ട് പുസ്തകങ്ങളിൽ കണക്കുകളായി മറയും. ഈ മണ്ണിൽ തലമുറകളായി കൊച്ചമ്പലങ്ങളിൽ ശയിക്കുന്ന ആത്മാക്കളും, പാരമ്പര്യത്തെ സംരക്ഷിക്കാൻ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് തൂക്കുമരത്തിലേക്ക് കാൽവെച്ച ശ്രീധരന്റെ ആത്മാവിന്റെയും വിലാപം ആലുംമൂട്ടിലിൽ ഇന്ന് തങ്ങിനിൽക്കുന്നു. ഈ അനീതിയെ ചെറുക്കാനുള്ള ഇളംതലമുറയുടെ കർമങ്ങൾ, ശ്രീധരൻ-അപ്പൂപ്പനോടുള്ള യുക്തമായ കടമയാണ്; സ്വന്തം ലാഭത്തിനായി ആൾബലവും, പൊലീസും കോടതികളും വളച്ചൊടിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നവരെ പോരാടി ജയിക്കുന്നത് ഒരുപക്ഷെ അവരുടെ നിയോഗം ആയിരിക്കും. അഴിഞ്ഞാടുന്ന ദുഷ്ശക്തികളെ കുടുംബത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കാൻ തെക്കടത്തപ്പൻ അവരുടെ മാർഗദർശിയും രക്ഷകനുമാകട്ടെ.
